ACPC officers and staff distribute
relief goods to typhoon victims

In line with the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Adopt-an-Evacuation Site Project for the victims of typhoon “Ondoy,” the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC) joined the other DA bureaus and attached agencies in distributing relief goods in Pasig City and Cainta, Rizal.

ACPC officers led by Executive Director Jovita M. Corpuz distributed over one hundred (100) relief packs containing grocery items to the affected families staying in evacuation centers in Kabisig Elementary School in Pasig City and at the Ynares Multi Purpose Hall in Cainta, Rizal.

The DA envisions a “continuous, sustained assistance” to the families in the Department’s adopted evacuation sites, which means that aid in the form of livelihood projects such as the Gulayan ng Masa or backyard vegetable growing, and urban fishing will be provided to beneficiaries in these areas.

The ACPC staff also provided assistance to the victims of typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng by giving out donations through the Agustinian Sisters of La Consolacion. Cash donations and goods from the ACPC staff were turned over to the Augustinian nuns for distribution to the victims in the provinces of Rizal, Laguna and Zambales.
